Comfort Level	Accommodation at the homestay can be fairly basic ie. sleeping mat on the floor, outside toilets (often "Asian" style) and cold water to wash in. That said, the food is fantastic and most people feel that the minor discomforts are more than compensated by the experience overall! In Bangkok and at the beach, we use very comfortable 3 star hotels usually with their own pool, air-conditioning etc. The stay in Khao Sok National park is in wooden jungle lodges which probably fall somewhere between the two ie. comfortable beds, private bathrooms but fairly basic facilities overall... although the food is great here too!
